Never Doubt My Love (For You)

When it’s late at night
And you’re all alone
Sitting, waiting
Beside the phone

What do you think?
What do you feel?
What do your thoughts
To you reveal?

Do you think of me?
Do you think of me?

Never doubt my love for you
Never doubt my feelings true
Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

Sitting by the fire
Watching the crackling flames
Kisses to be exchanged
Tired of all the games

Where do we go?
What do we do?
Can’t think of my life without you

This strange path we tread
To this moment’s led

Never doubt my love for you
Never doubt my feelings true
Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

I’ve never met a woman
That has meant so much to me
Never had this burning love
Never have I felt so free

No hiding behind facades
Babe, with you I am myself
To have you with me today
Takes my heart down off it’s shelf

So……

Never doubt my love for you
Never doubt my feelings true
Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

Never doubt my love for you
Never doubt my feelings true
Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

Never doubt
Never doubt
Never doubt my love for you

Underneath a lonely tree
Sits a man without a wife
Thoughts flow through his addled brain
As he contemplates his life

While in a room in a house
Husbandless a woman sits
She ponders her condition
As crazily her mind flits

She gets up, moves to the door
Decides she must take a stroll
Down the path into the woods
And beneath the rolling knolls

Lost amid his darkest thoughts
Like a ship that’s lost at sea
The man is tossed in turmoil
Over who and what he should be

The woman hears birds chirping
From each and every tree
As dark thoughts flow through her head
“Oh, what’s to become of me?”

The man moving from the tree
Onto the one lonely trail
Heading out so randomly
Hoping that he will not fail

Deeper into the dank woods
The woman darkly pushes
Her mind intently races
Moving through the bleak bushes

Quicker now races the man
Down along the beaten way
What will he tell his one love?
Oh whatever will he say?

A clearing opened ahead
Does now the sad woman see
The thrilled man into it bursts
As the woman turns to flee

“Wait,” says the man hopefully
As his love before him stands
“Please come back here to me
And do let me take your hands.”

Low upon his infirm knees
The man down before her goes
The woman downward looks on him
As they both do strike a pose

“No matter what has happened,”
In such earnest states the man
“I do love you even more
Than before this all began”

A deep loving look does pass
Across the woman’s slack face
A smile forms upon her lips
As her thoughts the man embrace

“I know that you love me, dear”
The woman says now aloud
“But what is it that you want?
What is it that you’ve avowed?”

“You know my great love for you,”
Does slow now the man begin,
“Is so deep and wholly true.
I just want to let you in.”

“So just listen if you will,”
As he gets down on one knee
“If you truly so desire,
Would you like to marry me?”

Smiling now the woman sighs,
“I thought you would never ask.
If that be your true desire,
Let’s begin this wholesome task!”

Hand in hand now do they walk
The man and his future wife
Finding a path many seek
Searching all throughout their life

What future awaits these two
No one can sincerely say
Only patient love will serve
To illuminate the way

A laugh
A smile
That’s all I need
A kiss
A hug
Nothing’s guaranteed

A look
A touch
Aquiver am I
A thought
A word
Spoken by and by

To me
What are you?
What can I say?
Lover
Friend
Confidante
Shoulder to cry
Arms to embrace

Nebulous whispers
Deep in the night
Hold my attention
Filled with delight
Utter amazement
Gazing on you
As I take your hand
Unto you my heart is given
