With hope I call you, answer you do not
Asleep you must be, wrapped within torrid dreams
Comforted and appalled, mind contradicted
Climbing slowly up, barely making way
Consciousness too, in spite, eludes you
Another day of wasted relief

Relief of the burdens of normal life
Decisions on the back burner are left
For another day, for another time, left bare
Consequences one way or another come
For those decisions dropped and likewise made
Delay indefinite holds upon you

For now, rest you within comforting dreams
Your life by your imagination bound
Frozen underneath fears paralyzing
In your short respite your mind takes solace
