Wondering what the day brings

We’ve had our ups and downs
We’ve had our good and bad
We’ve tried to make it work
In all the time we’ve had
I’ve learned to live without you

The laughter we shared

The memory of a caress

I long to wake beside you
To hold you in my arms
Alone I sleep without you
In a bed that’s way to big
I miss the way you laugh
I miss your sweet caress
I miss the smell of your body
Your cooking I miss the most
I reach for the pillow
Where you rested your head
I cuddle it tightly
As I lay in the bed
I catch a scent
As I pull it to me
The scent of you
A scent of me
I wish the circumstances were different and you weren’t so far away
I’m slowly growing to love you, more and more, day by day
I find myself thinking of you as I fall asleep at night
And dreaming sweet dreams of you until the morning light
I wake and think of you again in many different ways
Finding myself wanting you seems to fill my days
To find someone as good to me as you always seem to be
Is something that in my life has always seemed to flee
I want to feel you beside me as I go throughout my day
I need your strength and confidence that never goes away
I long to to have you near me, close enough to touch
